1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits. Other
technologies serve a similar purpose, such as the browser’s local storage (localStorage) or a
service worker cache. In this policy we explain all those used by the website, what for and how to control
them.
In accordance with Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE), without your consent we only use those that are necessary to provide the service you request. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them.
2. Scope
- The entire
pocketcoruna.comsite, in all its language versions, including the events section (/eventos/, its detail pages and its versions in other languages). - The Pocket Coruña app’s event viewer, which loads those same pages (see section 7).
- The domain
corunaeventos.com, which only redirects to the events section and does not set cookies.
Outside the event viewer, the app does not use cookies; the rest of its storage is explained in the Privacy Policy. The app’s usage statistics have their own consent request, independent of this notice, which you can change in the app’s Settings.
3. Summary
- Before you choose, the website does not set cookies: it only stores necessary technical data in your browser, such as your language.
- Analytics cookies: only those of Google Analytics, and only if you accept them.
- We do not use advertising or social media cookies.
- Third-party content: only event images are loaded from third-party servers (see section 6).
4. Our own cookies and storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Category | Where | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
pocket-coruna:cookie-consent | Local storage | Remembering whether you have accepted or rejected analytics. | Strictly necessary | Whole website | 12 months |
pocket-coruna:locale | Local storage | Remembering the website language. | Preference (technical) | Whole website | Until you delete it |
pocket-coruna:last-hero-video | Local storage | Alternating the home page video so that the same one is not always repeated. | Presentation (technical) | Home page | Until you delete it |
pc_cache | Local storage | Keeping a copy of the events calendar to show it if the connection fails. | Strictly necessary | Events calendar | Replaced on each visit to the calendar |
pc-event-images-v2, pc-event-image-meta-v2 | Service worker cache | Storing event images so they load faster and offline. | Strictly necessary | Events calendar | Deleted on the next visit to the calendar once the event date has passed or the event is no longer published |
_ga | First-party cookie, managed by Google Analytics | Distinguishing visitors by means of a random identifier. | Analytics (with consent) | Whole website | 2 years |
_ga_7C4N3PGT5F | First-party cookie, managed by Google Analytics | Maintaining the Google Analytics 4 session state. | Analytics (with consent) | Whole website | 2 years |
Local storage and the service worker cache are not sent to any server and are not used to analyse your behaviour. The website does not set any other first-party cookies: the framework it is built with (Astro) does not use cookies and the events API does not send them.
5. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
If you accept them, across the whole website we use Google Analytics 4, a Google service, to find out in aggregate how many people visit us, which pages they view and where they come from. Google processes the cookie’s random identifier, the pages visited, technical browser and device data, and an approximate location derived from the IP address.
- Nothing loads before you choose: the Google Analytics code is not downloaded and its cookies are not set until you click “Accept” or enable analytics in “Configure”.
- If you reject or make no choice, it never loads. Closing or ignoring the notice does not amount to acceptance.
- If you withdraw your consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies from our domain, reload the page and it does not load again.
- Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled in the tag configuration.
- The durations shown are Google’s defaults and are renewed with each visit.
More information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. International transfers are explained in the Privacy Policy.
6. Third-party content and cookies
The home page and the information pages do not load third-party content: fonts, icons and images are served from our server. In the events section:
- Event images, which are loaded from the servers where they are published by the Ayuntamiento de A Coruña, the organisers or their image providers. These servers receive your IP address and the technical data of the connection. Pocket Coruña does not control these servers or ask them to set cookies; any use they may make of cookies depends on their owners and on your browser settings.
- Event location: the detail pages show the event’s address and a link to open it in Google Maps. They do not embed maps or load Google resources; in addition, the page technically prevents frames (iframes) from other domains from loading.
Links to social networks, such as Instagram, and links to open the location in Google Maps are simple links: they do not load third-party content until you click them.
7. In-app event viewer
The Pocket Coruña app shows the details of each event in an integrated web viewer that loads the corresponding page
of pocketcoruna.com. Everything described in this policy applies within the viewer, with these
differences compared with your browser:
- The viewer has its own storage for cookies, local storage and cache, separate from the phone’s browser.
- The cookie notice also appears in the viewer, and your choice there is independent of the one you make in the browser. Google Analytics only loads in the viewer if you accept it there.
- The app does not delete that storage: it is kept until you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.
8. How to accept, reject or withdraw your consent
The first time you visit the website we show you a notice with three options of equal prominence: Accept, Reject and Configure. The notice does not prevent you from reading the content of the page.
You can change or withdraw your choice whenever you like from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page, or from this link:
We store your choice for 12 months. After that time, or if the services that use cookies change, we will ask you again.
10. Updates and contact
We will review this inventory when the services used by the website change and will update the date on this page. If you have any questions, write to us at hi@pocketcoruna.com.
