1. Owner, scope and acceptance
Pocket Coruña is an information service developed by Alberto Méndez Cabrera, under the trade name BetaZetaDev. The owner’s details appear in the Legal Notice. You can contact us at hi@pocketcoruna.com.
These terms govern the use of the Pocket Coruña mobile app for Android and iOS, the website
pocketcoruna.com and its events section, which can also be reached from corunaeventos.com
(together, “the service”).
By using the app or the website you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Downloading the app from Google Play or the App Store is also subject to the terms of those stores.
2. What Pocket Coruña offers
Pocket Coruña brings together practical information about A Coruña:
- Tourist and cultural information: places of interest, routes, tips and photographs.
- Events: a calendar of cultural, sports and leisure activities published by third parties.
- Mobility: lines, stops, timetables and estimated arrivals of urban buses, availability of BiciCoruña bikes and docks, and taxi ranks and services.
- Weather: current weather, forecast and optional rain alerts.
- Maps and routes: a city map that works offline and estimates for getting around.
Pocket Coruña does not provide transport services and does not manage bookings, payments or the operation of buses, bikes or taxis. Nor does it organise the events it publishes or sell tickets. When you contact a taxi or open an event’s website, your relationship is directly with that third party.
3. Free use, no accounts
The service is free of charge. It does not require registration and has no user accounts. The app does not include in-app purchases, subscriptions or advertising. Some features require an Internet connection, the cost of which depends on your operator.
4. Information provided for guidance only
Much of the information comes from external sources and may change without notice or may not be up to date at all times. In particular:
- Buses: timetables, routes and arrival times are estimates from the source system and may be affected by traffic, incidents or service changes. Without a connection, the app may show stored data that is not real-time.
- BiciCoruña: the availability of bikes and docks changes continuously and may not match the actual situation when you reach the station.
- Weather: observation data and forecasts come from MeteoGalicia and may be revised or may not materialise.
- Events: dates, times, venues, prices and whether the event takes place at all depend on their organisers.
- Places, routes and services: opening hours, access, phone numbers and other features may change.
The information is therefore provided for guidance only. We do not guarantee its absolute accuracy, that it is always up to date or that the service is available without interruption. Before travelling or making important decisions, check the information with the relevant transport operator, organiser or establishment.
5. Rain alerts
Rain alerts are informative and based on forecasts for A Coruña, which may not materialise. Their delivery depends on the connection, on Google’s and Apple’s notification services and on your device settings, so it may be delayed or may not occur.
They are not official warnings and do not replace official weather warnings or emergency alerts. In situations of risk, follow the instructions of the competent public services, such as MeteoGalicia, the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología or Protección Civil.
6. Maps, routes and directions
The app’s map is based on OpenStreetMap data included in the app itself, which may not reflect recent changes to streets, access or roadworks. Routes and travel estimates are suggestions.
Detailed directions are obtained in Google Maps or Apple Maps, which are subject to their own terms. When getting around, follow traffic rules, signage and the instructions of the authorities, and take into account your own safety and the conditions around you.
7. Third-party services and links
Some features depend on third parties: mobility data, weather, event information and images, map apps, your device’s phone or messaging apps and external websites. When you use their services or visit their websites from Pocket Coruña, their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Links to external sites are included because they may be useful. We do not control their content and are not responsible for it, but we will remove any link as soon as we have actual knowledge that it leads to unlawful content.
8. Unofficial service
Pocket Coruña is an independent project. It is not an official service of the Ayuntamiento de A Coruña (A Coruña City Council), the Xunta de Galicia, MeteoGalicia, the urban bus service, BiciCoruña or the taxi services, nor does it act on their behalf. The names of these entities are mentioned only to identify the information and its origin, and their mention does not imply that they sponsor or endorse Pocket Coruña.
9. Acceptable use
You agree to use the service lawfully and respectfully. In particular, you must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, servers or data of Pocket Coruña or third parties, or compromise their security.
- Make massive automated requests to the website or the API, or systematically extract their content, in a way that harms their operation.
- Interfere with the operation of the service, introduce malicious code or circumvent its technical measures.
- Use the service to infringe the rights of third parties or the law.
- Reuse, store, replicate or redistribute, in whole or in part, the data provided by the Pocket Coruña API in services, apps, websites or databases outside Pocket Coruña, whether through direct access to the API, automated requests or any other means, without the prior written authorisation of the owner.
The Pocket Coruña API is intended exclusively for the operation of the Pocket Coruña app and website and is not a data service open to the public. The above prohibition refers to data obtained through it and does not limit any rights you may have to access and reuse that data directly from its original sources, under the conditions they set.
We may adopt reasonable technical measures to protect the service, such as restricting access from addresses that make abusive use of it. These restrictions are interpreted in accordance with the applicable law and do not limit rights that the law recognises as non-waivable.
10. Permissions and data on your device
Some features need the location or notification permission. You can deny or withdraw them at any time in your device settings; the corresponding feature will be limited, but you can continue to use the rest of the service.
The first time you use the app, we ask whether you want to share usage statistics. It is voluntary: you can reject it without this limiting any feature, and change your decision at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share usage statistics.
Your favourites, searches and preferences are stored on your device. Pocket Coruña does not offer accounts or backups of its own, so this data may be lost if you clear the app’s data or uninstall it, unless it is included in a system backup you have enabled. Data processing is explained in the Privacy Policy.
11. Intellectual property, sources and licences
The software, design, logo and Pocket Coruña brand, as well as the texts and other elements created for the service, belong to their owner or are used with authorisation, and are protected by intellectual and industrial property law. They may not be reproduced, distributed or transformed for commercial purposes without authorisation, except where allowed by law.

12. Availability and changes to the service
We may correct, update, modify, temporarily suspend or withdraw features for technical, security or maintenance reasons, or because an external data source stops being available. We will try to keep interruptions short and to give advance notice of significant changes where possible.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Pocket Coruña is not liable for:
- Errors, delays or omissions in data supplied by third parties, such as timetables, arrivals, availability, forecasts or event information.
- Interruptions or failures caused by the connection, third-party services, the device or causes beyond our reasonable control.
- The services, content or actions of third parties accessed from Pocket Coruña.
- Damage arising from use of the service contrary to these terms or the law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability arising from wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the rights granted to you by consumer protection law.
14. Privacy and cookies
The processing of personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy, and the website’s cookies and local storage in the Cookie Policy.
15. Applicable law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by Spanish law and applicable European Union law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of habitual residence that are more favourable to you.
If you have a complaint, write to us first at hi@pocketcoruna.com and we will look for a solution. If we cannot reach an agreement, you may go to the courts that have jurisdiction under the law; if you are acting as a consumer, to those of your place of residence.
16. Changes to these terms and contact
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or the regulations. We will publish the current version on this page with its last updated date and, if the change is significant, we will announce it visibly.
